Safety & Environmental Manager - Elk Mills, MD

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with DEQ, OSHA & DOT regulations

  • Monitors safety, health & environmental concerns

  • Handles disposal of hazardous waste, vendor relationships and compliance with regulations

  • Schedules waste water testing, sampling and completes and maintains records and reports

  • Conducts internal safety audits and inspections and accident and near-miss investigations

  • Performs safety & Haz-mat training

  • Formulates general safety policies and procedures

  • Maintains OSHA 300 Logs and Safety Data Sheets

  • Additional duties as needed

 


Requirements

  • At least 2 years experience in environmental & safety related positions in management

  • Minimum HS Diploma

  • 2 years associate degree in safety preferred

  • Computer skills required for report maintenance and recordkeeping

  • Valid Drivers License with ability and willingness to travel to all plant locations at regularly scheduled intervals and as needed

Preferred Skills

Has the following training / certifications:

  • OSHA Outreach training for general industry & accident prevention

  • HAZWOPER annual training for OSHA-EPA-DOT-RCRA and USDOT Haz-Mat regulations
